Lovable and Google Cloud Expand Partnership to Enhance AI Software Development
Lovable and Google announced an expanded multiyear collaboration on Wednesday. Lovable, the fast-growing Stockholm vibe-coding startup, has long been a Google Cloud user. Under the new agreement, it will be a much bigger one.
Details regarding the financial terms of the collaboration remain undisclosed. However, a source familiar with the agreement informs ToolsMixAi that the partnership represents a fivefold increase in Lovable’s utilization of Google Cloud services, particularly in AI capabilities. This expansion includes enhanced access to Anthropic’s Claude, an AI model popular for coding, along with Google’s Gemini models.
The involvement of Anthropic is particularly noteworthy. In April, Google made a significant investment of $10 billion in Anthropic, which included a combination of cash and compute credits, and promised an additional $30 billion contingent upon the company meeting specific performance goals. This investment valued Anthropic at $350 billion—just before it secured a remarkable $65 billion round that pushed its valuation toward $1 trillion. This collaboration could significantly support Anthropic in achieving their performance benchmarks, as Lovable has emerged as one of Europe’s fastest-growing enterprises. According to Lovable, it surpassed $400 million in annual revenue in February, achieving an impressive $100 million growth in a single month with just 146 employees. The startup claims that a majority of Fortune 500 companies incorporate its product in various ways.
This partnership also enables Lovable to integrate further within Google’s expansive ecosystem. Lovable’s agent will now be accessible through Google Cloud’s enterprise agent marketplace, specifically the Gemini Enterprise Agent Gallery. This arrangement was initially hinted at during Google’s prominent U.S. cloud conference held in April. Additionally, to enhance security for code generated by both humans and agents, Lovable will link up with Wiz, Google’s largest-ever acquisition at $32 billion, which officially concluded in March, following an announcement last year about the acquisition. This integration is set to empower Wiz to identify and fix security vulnerabilities in real-time.
By marketing Lovable’s agents through Google’s marketplace, the cloud giant argues that procurement and billing processes will become streamlined, which will likely facilitate Lovable in attracting a greater number of enterprise clients.
For Google, the rationale is straightforward. By nurturing growth for both Lovable and Anthropic through engagement with well-funded enterprises, the revenue generated will help support the company’s anticipated capital expenditures, projected to be between $180 billion and $190 billion this year. Google is currently in the process of raising a record $85 billion in equity to help cover these costs, with about another $100 billion still required.
