Google Labs, the tech giant’s team devoted to experimental product design, has launched a new AI-fueled app for iOS and Android that will quite literally animate your life.
Introducing Dreambeans. The name? We’ll delve into that shortly.
First, what does it do?
Gozde Oznur, the lead on this product, explained to ToolsMixAi that Dreambeans leverages data from various Google services to craft a tailored selection of AI-driven “stories.” These narratives typically offer lifestyle ideas, spanning recommendations for places to visit, topics to dive into, and events that matter.
By tapping into a user’s Google data—given appropriate permissions—Dreambeans utilizes Personal Intelligence. It synchronizes information from Gmail, Calendar, Photos, YouTube, and Search History to create a focused array of daily narratives meant to inspire fresh experiences.
For example, you might receive local suggestions such as a new café nearby that aligns with your interests. Alternatively, if you’ve marked a new dog acquisition in your Google Calendar, the app could provide insights into puppy ownership, as illustrated in this marketing video. Other possibilities include curated news articles tailored to your previous interests.

Oznur emphasized that Dreambeans is designed as a remedy for doomscrolling. Users receive a restricted number of narratives—typically between 10 to 14—each day, encouraging them to engage with inspirational content and then move on with their lives. Many companies are attempting to attract users who are looking for respite from constant phone use. A recent review highlighted another startup, Bond, which similarly employs AI for generating lifestyle recommendations.
What about user privacy?
Oznur reassured that privacy measures are robust. The only individual who can view the generated stories is the user. Moreover, users have the option to erase their data anytime, as well as choose which Google services they wish to link with Dreambeans.
And how did “Dreambeans” come to be?
The name stems partly from the app’s function while users sleep. Oznur explained that the “dream” aspect reflects how the app processes data during the night, generating insightful content upon waking. The “beans” part symbolizes the fresh start of a new day, akin to enjoying a freshly brewed cup of coffee — a concentrated dose of inspiration waiting for you each morning.
Currently, Dreambeans is available exclusively to U.S.-based Google AI Ultra subscribers on both Android and iOS. A waitlist is also open to general Google account holders.

This launch signifies a notable shift in how consumers may interact with technology, particularly as the demand for more mindful engagement with digital tools continues to rise. Dreambeans could prove influential in shaping healthier tech habits while simultaneously providing personalized guidance, thus addressing a growing concern about digital overload.
